last day of classes....last day of the year...where did it all fly off to??
i am now down to one paper and three exams until summer. i'm riding it out. and next week, hopefully the job will magically come through to me.
my gender && women's studies prof concluded her lecture today with a quote from angela davis that went like this:
"I don't think we can move forward if young women and young people are not at the forefront of our struggles. You have to be a little young and crazy to get out there and do the things that are necessary in order to try to change the world."
i think changing the world does require young people, but at the same time, it requires young people that are serious about what they're doing. young people that are passionate must grow into older people that are passionate. i mean, if you're just going to grow up and fade out of the passion of the cause then what's the use??
that class had a major impact on me, and i'm so so glad i kind of got thrown into it. the prof is great [sarah projanksy] even though i didn't particularly enjoy my discussion sections with my t.a.
this summer i think i'm going to take a training course two weeks before school that would allow me the ability to work with the rape crisis center in its quest to prevent/aid in cases of sexual violence. although extremely challenging, i think this opportunity could have a major impact on my life.
still trying to fight the good fight.
trying to keep up with the rest of my days as a sophomore.
sweeter dreams.
