i was reading up on obama's media policies today, and i am somewhat optimistic about his approach to net neutrality, media merging, and regulation. although i have my doubts about what politicians claim and the actions they carry out, i think that he has a healthy approach to the problem with media in this country. i especially liked his comment that parents should be the primary regulators of the type and content of the programs, video games, etc. that children are engaging in. I think parents need to spend a little bit more time regulating what their children are doing and perhaps educating them. Media violence, sexual content, and obscene language can be a bit invasive, but with the proper guidance I think parents can influence their children on what is appropriate/realistic/acceptable. i am appreciative of obama's media policies. read more about it at:

i'm taking many courses involving the effects of media and one entitled propaganda. i'm learning to enjoy the classes, especially one professor i have for both social aspects of media and latino/as in US media. she has a very fluent lecturing style and her agenda for the day is always put forth at the beginning of class. i wish my courses were slightly more challenging, but i'll deal with it for now. life is busy, but absolutely wonderful.
sweeter dreams.
